	~~:[[File:Hint.jpg]]~~The reason for using trim and bleed marks is that it is very difficult to print exactly to the edge of a sheet of paper. That's why, in professional printing, maps are printed ~~on 'oversize' paper (e.g. A3+, which is~~ slightly larger ~~than a 'normal' A3)~~ and then trimmed/cut to the ~~required~~ final ~~size~~. If the map or layout is to run to the edge of the paper, it will need to be extended beyond the trim mark to create a bleed. The bleed is then the area to be trimmed. In this way ~~there will be~~ no ~~unprinted edges on the finished map~~.		The reason for using trim and bleed marks is that it is very difficult to print exactly to the edge of a sheet of paper. That's why, in professional printing, maps are printed in a slightly larger format that the final map format and then trimmed/cut to the final map format. If the map or layout is to run to the edge of the paper, it will need to be extended beyond the trim mark to create a bleed. The bleed is then the area to be trimmed. In this way no white borders appear after cutting.
